Nepal is bordered by Tibet in China to the north, Uttarakhand in India to the east, Bihar in India to the south, and Sikkim in India to the west. Due to the geographical proximity, China and Nepal have maintained good friendship since ancient times. The economic and trade development between Nepal and China has mainly gone through three periods. The first period is after China and Nepal joined the WTO; The second period is after the 2008 financial crisis; The third period is the Belt and Road Initiative in 2013.

Although the development of economic and trade cooperation between China and Nepal has deepened with the development of political relations between the two countries, with the further development of economic and trade between the two countries, there have also been various problems, such as irregular trade order, unbalanced trade structure, imperfect laws and regulations, which have brought certain obstacles to the long-term development of bilateral trade. Based on this, this study takes the economic and trade cooperation between China and Nepal as the research subject and object, analyzes the general situation and indicators of the economic and trade development between China and Nepal through literature research, qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis, and further draws out the problems and causes in the trade cooperation between the two countries, and then formulates targeted countermeasures and suggestions for the existing problems, With a view to promoting economic and trade cooperation and development between the two countries.
