Norway Introduces Entry Quarantine for Arrivals From Regions of Italy, Finland & Sweden

The Norwegian authorities have introduced entry quarantine for arrivals from Italy’s Sicily, the regions of Kajanaland and Satakunta in Finland, as well as the regions of Dalarna, Jämtland, Jönköping and Södermanland in Sweden.

In addition, this measure, which enters force on December 20, will also affect arrivals from Romania, the archipelago of the Azores of Portugal, the Central Ostrobothnia region in Finland and the Gotland region in Sweden, SchengenVisaInfo.com reports.

Furthermore, this risk assessment, which is the last one for this year, reveals that no countries are currently placed in Norway’s green category, meaning that arrivals from all EU member states must undergo some entry requirement like quarantine or testing.

Unvaccinated arrivals from dark red and red categories are required to take a pre-departure test, PCR or antigen test, taken 24 hours before arrival. In addition, the traveller must undergo quarantine requirements and end the isolation by taking a test no later than the third day of quarantine.

The dark red category includes:

EU Member States: Andorra, Belgium, Estonia, France, Greece, Ireland, Croatia, Cyprus, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Monaco, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal (changed from red), Slovakia, Slovenia, UK, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary and Austria.
Sweden: Västmanland
Denmark: The capital (including Copenhagen), Central Jutland, North Jutland, Zealand and Southern Denmark, the Faroe Islands and Greenland.
Finland: Birkaland’s and Norra Österbotten.
EU archipelagos: Ionian Islands (Greece), Corsica (France), Crete (Greece) and Madeira (Portugal).
Furthermore, the same rules apply for arrivals from the red category, which consists of:

EU Member States: Red: Bulgaria, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Malta, San Marino, Spain and the Vatican City.
Sweden: Blekinge, Gävleborg, Halland, Kalmar, Skåne, Stockholm, Uppsala, Värmland, Västernorrland, Västra Götaland, Örebro and Östergötland, Dalarna, Jämtland, Jönköping and Södermanland.
Finland: Central Hämeenlinna, Southwest Finland, Helsinki and Uusimaa, Kymenlaakso, Lapland, Central Finland, Northern Savolax, Päijat-Häme, South Ostrobothnia and South Karelia, Kajanaland and Satakunta.
EU archipelagos: Balearic Islands (Spain), Canary Islands (Spain), North Aegean Islands (Greece) and South Aegean Islands (Greece).
Milder entry rules apply from the orange and green category, as they are required to take a PCR or antigen test three days upon arriving in Norway. The orange category includes the following:

EU Member States: Romania
Sweden: Kronoberg, Norrbotten and Västerbotten.
Finland: Central Ostrobothnia.
EU archipelagos: Azores (Portugal)
However, fully vaccinated travellers are permitted to enter the country under less stringent requirements.

“Persons arriving in Norway must be tested for SARS-CoV-2 at the border crossing point in Norway, regardless of vaccination status. The test must be an antigen quick test and the traveller must wait for a response at the test station,” the National Public Health explains.
